Dress Code
A dress code is fundamental in dance as it supports professionalism, safety, and respect for the art. We request that all dancers and caregivers review and follow our dress code to help maintain these values.
1 - Respect and focus:
Wearing the proper attire shows consideration for other students, teachers, and the dance itself. It helps create a focused and respectful environment in the studio.
2 - Safety and Corrections
Wearing the right clothes helps teachers see how dancers are moving, which is important for correcting their posture and alignment. This helps keep dancers safe and prevents injuries.
Safety Guidelines:
- Securely tie up hair to keep face and neck clear.
- No loose or dangling jewelry.
- No gum chewing to eliminate risk of chocking.
3 - No Costumes, Unless Instructed:
Unless a dress-up day is announced by the teacher, costumes should not be worn in class.
4 - Appropriate Dance Shoes:
Proper dance shoes must be worn to prevent foot injuries and ensure proper technique. Street shoes are allowed in the lobby and hallway, but not allowed in the studios.
Failure to Comply:
If a dancer arrives without the proper dance attire, they will be asked to observe the class for that say to maintain safety and respect for the other dancers.
Communication:
We understand that certain circumstances may arise that may prevent a student from coming to the studio in the proper dance attire. In such case please inform the teacher to the best of your ability.
